This question has been evading us since a long time, and it is high time that we realize that by saving gas we are saving nature’s precious resource. There are numerous benefits arising out of our decision to convert our gas car to electric. As compared to the traditional gas vehicle, an electric car uses electricity instead of gasoline.

Let us list down some important reasons which justify conversion of an electric car to a gas vehicle.

•	Acquirement: Purchasing an electric car is relatively more inexpensive than buying a traditional one. The most expensive part of an electric car is its batteries but that is a minor issue while comparing it with the conventional ones. Also, if one already has an old car, he/she can easily convert it to an electric one by putting in a few hundred dollars and a DIY electric car kit.

•	Fuel: Gas prices have been on a rise gradually and this is the major concern with traditional cars. The fuel expenses per month on an electric car turn out to be much less than on a gas car. Traditional cars use only 20% of the energy in every liter of fuel and the rest is expelled as waste.

•	By Products: Conventional cars cause air pollution which has become the primary cause of respiratory diseases, eye problems and more importantly global warming. As compared to gas cars, the electric ones do not emit any pollutants to the air and help in keeping the environment pollution free. That is the main reason why electric cars are known as “ZEV’s”- Zero Emission Vehicles.

•	Efficiency: Electric cars are logically known to be faster than the traditional ones as they weigh less. This is due to the absence of certain internal combustion powered, heavy parts.

The skyrocketing prices of gas are no more an unknown thing to any vehicle owner. Today’s gas prices are shocking. A salaried person finds it extremely hard to continue driving his gas car and pay the subsequent bills arising thereof. But have you ever had the fleeting thought of converting your gas vehicle into an electric one? Yes, it’s easy and saves you a lot of money. There are mainly four essential steps by which a gas car can be converted into an electric vehicle. Let’s have a look:

•	To begin with one needs to have a step by step guide on How to convert a gas vehicle into an electric car. A good guide is extremely important.

•	The next obvious thing is a car on which you desire to experiment. To begin with, take a small compact car. Small cars are rather easier to convert as they are light weight.

•	After having decided to go forward with the conversion, make sure you buy an AC or DC motor. For a charge of around 100-200 miles, you would require approximately 20 batteries. Some other crucial tools are the cordless drills, saws, wrenches, a socket set etc. The step by step guide can help you out in this regard in a more precise manner.

•	The last but the most important thing is an area where you would be working. The space should be well lit and covered, so that weather does not play a deterrent in your experimentation. A garage or a driveway can serve the purpose because the work might take up a few days.

Converting a gas car to an electric one is not exactly rocket science but yes, having a few friends around to help can be handy!
